DISCORDANCE BETWEEN THE LAW AND POSSIBILITIES FOR CONVICTS TRAINING
Keywords:
Law on Execution of Penal Sanctions, European Prison Rules, education, training, workAbstract
The subject of this text is the existing discordance between legal regulations and possibilities for realization of right for training (education, training, work). In most western countries prison treatment is based on work and educational activities. In our country we are not in shortage of the laws but there are little employment of convicts and almost non-existing organized forms of adult education what make the discordance. It is impossible to evaluate the success of punishment if it is not served in appropriate conditions. Imprisonment is not only deprivation of freedom but also limitation of other human rights although that is not necessery for prison functioning. Restriction of convicts right to education and work makes harder social efforts for convicts future social integration and life in freedom.
