Abstract
In the first part of this article, the author deals with the history of civil proceedings in the United States of America, the organization of the courts, basic rules of the appellate procedure, cases in which the appeal is allowed, as well as the content of the notice of appeal. The author then discusses who can submit appeal, when can appeal can be submitted, the jurisdiction of the District court for the appellate procedure, as well as the possibility of the alternative dispute resolution in the stage of appeal. The author also deals with certain doctrines such as the Mootness doctrine as well as the Merger rule.
