EXECUTION OF PRISON SENTENECES AND THE PRISON SYSTEM IN REPUBLIC OF TURKEY

Abstract
The article analyses legal regulation of prison sentence and prison system in Turkey, representing its’ complexity and statistics that are related to this topic. The most common and the most difficult problems from the practice are presented in the article. During the complex judicial system reform that took place in twentieth century, this penalty itself has gone through some significant changes. While being the part of reform this penalty faced its flourishment but later has gone through some difficulties. Modern Turkey is willing to be a part of European Union and due to this intention it is ready to go through significant social reforms and part of them is the reform of jails.
