Abstract
The aim of this work is to highlight some of the main issues that arise in connection with the natural and nuclear catastrophes. In this context, especially considering three main stages in disaster management: disaster prediction and preparedness; post disaster emergency response; medical management and support as a part of the immediate response to a disaster and, post disaster victim compensation, both from the standpoint of legal theory, and from the point of view of international legal instruments.
