Abstract
In this paper, the author deals with the problems of liability for defective products. Some of these issues in the US law are shown in the context of their relation with the solutions from Directive 85/374/EEC - liability for defective products (EU). The author considers the problem of defining the notion of defective products, as well as the form of liability applied depending on the type of defect. Furthermore, he considers other issues: the circle of responsible and damaged persons, proving the existence of defect in the product, types of damage and liability for specific product groups.
